An Open Letter to
My Karambhoomi 'Uttarakhand'
On 20th Uttarakhand Sthapna Diwas, here is a humble tribute to my karambhoomi Uttarakhnad that had a major influence on my life journey.

Dearest Uttarakhand,

Namaste from Hawaii, USA!

First of all, heartiest congratulations on 20th Uttarakhand Sthapna Diwas!!! When I look back and observe, I realize my karambhoomi 'Uttarakhnad' has a major influence on my life journey.

It was July 16, 2010 when I arrived with Rs. 3000 and a couple of dreams in my pocket. Since day one, I fell in love with your simplicity, your openness and such wonderful gifts bestowed upon you by mother nature.

I am glad you welcomed me with open arms and always made me feel a part of your lovely family. I never realized if I was ever alone or a stranger.
Being here, mountains inspired me to dream big, dense greenery inspired me to keep my hopes alive, and beautiful streams inspired me to be giving with all my heart.
Though it was next to impossible for me to repay for all your love and friendship; still, I just tried my level best to do my job with honesty and goodwill.

Being in the position of a teacher cum trainer, I understood how sensitive it was; hence, I tried to inspire as much as I could. I tried to motivate as much as I could. I tried to ignite a spark in young hearts as much as I could.

Honestly speaking, I did nothing special or extraordinary, I just shared the same flame of inspiration with my students, that I had received in abundance from you. Hope I did well and didn't let you down.

By the way, through all my thick and thin, you never stopped showing me love, hope and warmth. With your blessings, I built my home and had a gorgeous family in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Above all, I gathered so much affection and appreciation from my student-trainees that I had never imagined.

It's the very first time, this Hawaii International Cultural Festival
will get to see a proud Indian from devbhoomi Uttarakhand.
I know, I still have so much of your dues on me that I can hardly repay. Still, as a small tribute and a token of my love and respect to you, I am representing you and your glorious culture at the International Cultural Festival "Island Style Celebration" in Hawaii, USA.

And interestingly, it's the very first time, this Hawaii International Cultural Festival will get to see a proud Indian from devbhoomi Uttarakhand.

Please bless me :)

with love,
your son

Leadership At Its Best

This blog post is to share one simple yet most profound example of leadership.
Leadership At Its Best
Today, it was a very special day for us; when Mr. Tatsuya Tanaka, President (Fujitsu) himself came all the way from Tokyo to Hawaii to cheer for us.

Well, this blog post is neither to promote vegetarianism nor to make you feel hungry :D

This post is to share one simple yet most profound example of leadership.

Few months ago, we 15 professionals (from 8 different countries) got selected from the entire South & South East Asia as the most promised individuals in our respective fields.

We came far away from our families and our homelands to participate in this wonderful journey called GLIK (Global Leaders for Innovation & Knowledge).

Yes, this journey not only made us realize our true potential as Global Leaders, but also tested us on various occasions.

Over the lunch, President Tanaka appreciated our commitment and promised his support to us.
Today, it was a very special day for us; when Mr. Tatsuya Tanaka, President (Fujitsu) himself came all the way from Tokyo to Hawaii to cheer for us.

Despite his overly busy schedule, he spent half day with us; and also, over the lunch, he appreciated our commitment and promised his unconditional support to all of us.

This humble gesture from the topmost leader of Japan's no. 1 ICT organization just blew us away and won our hearts completely.

So, how are the leaders in your organization wining your hearts?
