Importance of Employablity Training

Only 25 percent of technical graduates and 10-15 percent of other graduates are considered employable
Importance of Employablity Training
Reports suggest that candidates may have the qualifications and ‘hard skills’ needed to be able to manage the job role but, without a well-honed set of ‘soft skills’, employers are less inclined to hire.

According to NASSCOM, each year over 3 million graduates and post-graduates are added to the Indian workforce.

However, of these only 25 percent of technical graduates and 10-15 percent of other hashtag graduates are considered employable by the rapidly growing IT and ITES segments.
Reports suggest that candidates may have the qualifications and ‘hard skills’ needed to be able to manage the job role but, without a well-honed set of ‘soft skills’, employers are less inclined to hire.
The good news is that, while many soft skills are inherent, others can be learned. One can train oneself just as one can in hard skills.

3 years ago, Surbhi Bhutani (whom I trained on Employability and Career Skills) got offer letters from 4 leading MNCs.

Today Surbhi is a proud member of Infosys family, and adding value to the organization with her same zeal and zest.
Full marks to her for her hard work and dedication that she never missed any T&D session and actively participated in all T & D related activities, and improved her performance drastically.

Today she is a proud member of Infosys family and adding value to the organization with her same zeal and zest.

Needless to mention, Training does play an important role to enable students become job ready and culture fit with the right set of soft skills.

Value of Mock Interviews

Mock interviews can help us sail through the job interview like a breeze.
Value of Mock Interviews
Many of us have all the answers in our head but sometimes they do not sound as good once we speak them into existence in an interview.

As per TeamLease Services Limited, “Candidates may be academically and technically sound, but certain level of aptitude, articulation and attitude is required to bring out their functional skills to the fore. Many candidates look great on paper, but fail to express as well as communicate clearly in personal interviews.

Many of us have all the answers in our head but sometimes they do not sound as good once we speak them into existence in an interview.

To address this issue, I have found that a mock interview is a very helpful tool in preparing the students to land their dream job.

Going through a mock interview helps us to nail down our story, our strengths, and better state our weaknesses.

Mock interviews are not only a great way to calm our nerves, but they can also give us valuable feedback, which can help us sail through the job interview like a breeze.

Training Fundamentals (I)

Training Fundamentals (I)
Research suggests that any skill comes when we practice it with a sense of purpose. It has been found that students generally don't take much interest in Skill Enhancement training sessions for the lack of drive sometimes.

I vividly remember, both Vimal Tiwari and Naushad started their journey in my training sessions as humble students. They both were quite ambitious, but Confidence and Communication were their areas of improvement.

Research suggests that any skill comes when we practice it with a sense of purpose. It has been found that students generally don't take much interest in Skill Enhancement training sessions for the lack of drive sometimes.

It is important to let them understand (right from the very beginning) that their KSA (Knowledge - Skills - Attitude) is much more crucial for them to succeed in life rather than mere passing the exams.

As a rule of thumb, I always try to ignite a spark in my students and inspire them to have a sense of purpose in life. And as trainers, once we accomplish this goal, half the job is done then and there.

The rest of the task is to create interest among them by incorporating a number of Experiential Learning Methods to bring variety and student engagement.

Over the years, this simple method has enabled me witness many Success Stories time and again and Vimal and Naushad are the best testimonials to that.

Thanks to both of them for sharing their kind feedback. Truly respect their sentiments.

Why Am I Passionate about My Profession?

During my life-journey, I met some remarkable people, had incredible experiences and learnt crucial life lessons.
Why Am I Passionate about My Profession?
Overtime I realized I was not following my heart or in other words, I was not able to realize my true calling.

Like any other youngster, I too faced the dilemma of choosing the right career for myself. Truth be told, I did make deviating choices initially, and had my share of struggles.

Overtime I realized I was not following my heart or in other words, I was not able to realize my true calling. During my life-journey, I met some remarkable people, had incredible experiences and learnt crucial life lessons.

Today, when I look back and connect the dots, I truly feel it was all worth it. I am glad that I chose Teaching and Training the young minds neither under compulsion nor being bound by circumstances; but for my pure passion of learning and sharing my learning with others.

I feel grateful to acknowledge that I found my calling, I am following my heart and thus, adding value to young minds and enjoying every bit of it.

To paraphrase Steve Jobs,

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

Today, I am following my heart, adding value to the young minds and enjoying every bit of it.
